Hieronim Radziejowski, of Junosza coat of arms (1612-1667)

Marshal of the regular Seym in Warsaw 13 II-27 III 1645

Starost of Sochaczew form 1643, Vice-Chancellor of the Crown from 1651

At the 1647 seymik at Rawa Mazowiecka he appeared as a gentry tribun and a spokesman of those dissatisfied with the court policy. A frequent Seym deputy. His intrigues against Jan Kazimierz and his letters to the Cossacks gained at Beresteczko, in which he openly defied the court, almost brought the king to deprive him of his office. During the divorce with his wife, Elżbieta Kazanowska of the Słuszka family, he vindicated his rights by force of arms. In the Marshal Court he was sentenced to death for high treason. The attempts to rescint that verdict in the Piotrkow Tribunal brought him to the Seym Court which held the sentence. Radziejowski defected to Sweden. In 1655, by the side of Charles Gustavus, he took part in the Swedish invasion on Poland. In the 1662 Seym, in result of numerous intrigues and pressures, he was restored to honour. When sent to the Ottoman Empire in 1667, he died during that diplomatic mission.
